No Shot, No Drill

A Little About Us

Our mission is your care. Whether you need a great deal of dental work or just a cleaning, our job is to make your life easier and more comfortable. We’re extremely proud of the knowledge and experience of our practitioners – their thoughtfulness and professionalism keeps our patients coming back appointment after appointment and year after year.

Dr. Ahearn and the staff of Southcoast Smiles use the most advanced materials and procedures available. They practice comfortable, health-centered dentistry with a strong emphasis on getting to know each of their patients. In addition to their technical proficiency, they are careful listeners and will explain beforehand which treatment is best for your individual needs. Our entire staff looks forward to your visit and to showing you how exceptional dentistry can improve your life.

  • Dr. Blitz

When you come to us for orthodontic treatment, you’ll have the pleasure of working with Dr. Neil Blitz. Dr. Blitz is a graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Prior to joining our practice in 2009, Dr. Blitz was in private orthodontic practice for 25 years in Rhode Island. An avid underwater photographer and spearfisher, Dr. Blitz also enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Roslyn, two daughters, Jessica and Jaclyn, and their yellow Lab, Sam.

  • Dr. Miranda

Dr. Mary Jane has been a member of our family since she was a child, when her mother worked at Perfect Smiles. As a child, Mary Jane expressed an interest in being a dentist and through the years, she grew within our practice. She started working at our front desk after she graduated high school and then became a certified dental assistant. After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree from Rhode Island College in 2007, Mary Jane took a hiatus from the practice to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Mary Jane was so committed to becoming a dentist that she actually commuted to Boston from Somerset every day for 4 years! After obtaining her degree in dental medicine, Mary Jane has now returned to practice at Perfect Smiles and Southcoast Smiles.
